At least 19 people have died in a fire at a hotel-casino in Cambodia, local authorities said. A fire broke out at the Grand Diamond City Hotel in Poipet, bordering Thailand, around 11:30 pm on Wednesday. At that time there were about 400 people inside the building.
Videos circulating on social media showed people jumping or falling from the upper floors of the hotel.
The hotel also housed many Thai nationals who later crossed the border into their country, local media said.
Many injured in the incident have been taken to hospitals in Thailand’s Sa Kaew province. The death toll may increase. The fire was brought under control on Today morning.
